A local couple with a busy family wanted to make the most of their kitchen space and utility area. The kitchen needed to be practical above all else as it was to suit the needs of not only a family home, but also a home baking business. It was important to increase the feeling of more light and space, maximising every inch of space for the added storage.
We wanted to make this kitchen feel like a welcome hug at the end of the day, while including space for kitchen gadgets and a business to run efficiently from. The clients opted for our full turnkey service completed entirely by our in-house team.
The first step towards a bespoke kitchen design
Having come to us through recommendation, our client already had a large degree of confidence in our team and had a really good idea of what was important to them and the finished result they hoped to create.
After booking a design consultation with Andy, we set about answering the brief together, browsing samples and drawings to get a feel for the overall design.
A survey of the property was taken, where we will note not only the measurements of the space, but electrics, plumbing, flooring, wall surfaces and any potential stumbling points.
Every project is bespoke and designed specifically for that client so it is especially important to get a true feel for the home before the design takes place.
Choosing the products

Back to the drawing board
With careful planning, we found a way of incorporating a bespoke cabinet to be built around the stairs which cut through into the kitchen. This allowed for added storage and a more pleasing design. Thinking of how the new kitchen will fit into family life it was also important to accommodate a large dining table for family times and a large peninsular to be used as a working area.
We maximised every inch of space for storage which was necessary as the room had three doors and windows. Extra deep worksurfaces around the hob area, storage hacks in the cabinets and a bespoke larder in the utility allowed the family home to be as clutter-free as possible!
The chosen colours are light and airy giving a brighter feel to a dark room, which will also remain in trend due to the classic palette and chrome hardware. There is no one-size-fits-all when planning a kitchen, from lighting, storage, colour palette and materials it is all custom designed individually for you.

The bespoke kitchen build
Having worked with our clients from the very beginning, we truly understand your vision and the work involved. To have trust in the process of your chosen professionals is vital, our in-house family team allows us to always have a clear vision and confidence in the materials and design from day one.
We understand the upheaval of having tradespeople in your home and will always accommodate our ways to fit in with your families needs. Keeping the working areas as clutter free and clean as possible during the renovation is often a worry voiced by our clients - this is always taken into consideration and our clients requirements are discussed in depth before commencement. Both Ben and Sarah worked from home, so our team ensured their privacy and that noise was down to a minimum with as little disruption as possible.
The electrics and plumbing were renewed for the new layout, followed by plastering the room and prepared for painting. Flooring was then laid throughout and the new units were put in place ready for the Quartz templating and install, which always gives the most dramatic look of the build so far. The appliances are then fitted and any final touches required. We are always open to communicate throughout the process and encourage your thoughts and ideas at every stage.
The reveal
The quality of materials used and the use of space to create a multi-functional area is what makes this kitchen stand out to us and our clients.
Keeping a neutral palette which also feels warm and homely for family but easy to use and keep clean and tidy for a home business has resulted in a beautiful living area. Planning a kitchen takes time and not rushing the process and talking it through with experts until just right will ensure the desired result.
